TORONTO/OTTAWA—The Ottawa office of public relations firm Fleishman-Hillard asked Toronto design firm Key Gordon to work on its green bin project with the City of Ottawa because of its environmental expertise.

Key Gordon president and creative director Grant Gordon says his design firm specializes in the environmental sector. The project with the City of Ottawa involved getting the community, especially young people, behind the implementation of green compost bins in the city.

The International Association of Business Communicators in Toronto has launched a Green Guide for Communicators, a resource for those looking for advice on how to "go green."

Designed by Traffic Marketing + Design’s Bernard Hellen and written by Push Communications senior consultant and writer Frances Roberts, the free downloadable PDF includes green communication strategies, a directory listing of environmentally friendly resources and more.

OTTAWA—Twenty-one member companies of the Forest Products Association of Canada and nine environmental associations have unveiled the Canadian Boreal Forest Agreement. The contract, according to a release from Canopy applies to 72 million hectares of public forests licensed to FPAC members.

The agreement, when fully implemented, will conserve significant areas of Canada’s Boreal Forest, protect threatened woodland caribou and provide a competitive edge for participating companies.

 VANCOUVER—The number of environmental printing and writing grade papers available in North America has more than doubled, from 97 to 228 in the past 18 months, according to a press release from Canopy, formerly Market Initiative.
