Cascades trumpets low carbon footprint in new report
SAINT-JÉRÔME, QC—Cascades Fine Paper Inc., based in this town at the foot of the Laurentians north of Montreal, is promoting the low carbon footprint of its 100% recycled paper.
The company has published a new report that states one metric ton of North American virgin paper, on average, produces the equivalent of 4245.1 kg of carbon dioxide, while the same ton of 100% recycled paper produces 1791.1 kg. The 100% recycled paper manufactured by Cascades produces 270.4 kg, the company states.

Finch Paper adds recycled fibre to digital papers
GLENS FALLS, NY — Finch Paper, LLC has upgraded its digital uncoated paper portfolio with the announcement that three of its products – Finch Fine iD, Finch Fine Digital, and Finch Color Copier – are now made with 10% post-consumer recycled fibre. These papers are also certified to the standards of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI).
Tony McDowell, VP of sales and marketing for Finch Paper, says customer requests prompted the company to take action to add post-consumer recycled content.
