Canada wins gold in other international contest

NEW YORK—While Team Canada may not be fairing well at this summer’s Beijing Olympic Games – it currently sits in 15th place with 9 metals – team Ryan Uhrich and Marco Ceravalo of the Vancouver Film School certainly did. The pair won top honours in the Motion Graphics category at the Adobe Design Achievement Awards, held Thursday in New York.

The eight-year-old competition from Adobe Systems recognizes the most talented students in graphic design, photography, illustration, digital filmmaking, animation and computer graphics.

This year, there were entries from more than 2,700 students from 33 countries, including Portugal, Spain, Italy, Germany, U.K., Korea, Taiwan and across the U.S.
