TORONTO—Come one, come all to Design Edge Canada’s presentation of The Font Show, with host Ann Meredith Brown, editor of Design Edge Canada, and a panel of award-winning designers who will discuss the joys and displeasures of working with type.

Presented at the book and magazine festival Word on the Street, The Font Show will delve into the wonderful world of type. Swing by the Canadian Magazines Tent to swap tips and tricks, discuss the challenges of editorial design and hear what’s hot and not in typography. The Show starts at 4:30pm.

Joining our panel are art directors Gary Davidson, Levi Nicholson and Scott Richardson:

Gary Davidson is the art director of outdoor magazine Explore, where he uses whatever is on hand to loosen up the feel of the computer generated print product. Experimentation, he believes, is the key to fun in design and in life.

Levi Nicholson is an art director at Zaxis Custom Communications. He is also art director of the Ryerson Review of Journalism, ON Nature and Pulse magazines, and he is currently redesigning This Magazine.

Scott Richardson is vice president and creative director, Canadian publishing, for Random House of Canada. He is an accomplished designer and novelist who has worked with many notable Canadian and international authors. Contact: www.wordonthestreet.ca
