Art director becomes web publisher at St. Joseph Media

TORONTO—Gary Campbell has moved over to the digital side at St. Joseph Media. Campbell, who has worked as Quill & Quire’s art director for the last five years and oversaw a redesign of that magazine in 2006, is now the senior web producer for the company’s urban group, which consists of Toronto Life, Ottawa Magazine, Where magazines and Q&Q. “I’m basically like a publisher for the websites,” Campbell says.

Moving into the online world isn’t a radical shift for Campbell. “For several years I oversaw the strategic development of the Q&Q website, implementing important features like Quillblog, RSS feeds, e-commerce, WYSIWYG [what you see is what you get] editing tools, and more,” he says in a follow-up e-mail. “I'm looking forward to bringing similar innovation to the web sites of Toronto Life – and Where, and Ottawa Magazine.”

Filling Campbell’s AD role at Q&Q is Athena St. Jacques, who was most recently the acting associate art director for Toronto Life. Contact: www.stjosephmedia.com
