Design Hope reaches out
TORONTO—Design Hope Toronto has launched its first newsletter. The three-year-old volunteer organization led by Bill Ford of Philip Sung Design Associates helps raise money for the homeless. Artists donate artwork related to the theme of shelter to auction off for charity.
“It’s something we’ve been meaning to do for a while,” says Ford of the newsletter. “We need to get in people’s faces and find corporate sponsors.”
A Hamilton architecture firm established the organization in 2001 and has since raised $150,000 for Hamilton’s Out-of-the-Cold program. Ford started a Toronto chapter three years ago. Its upcoming event in February will be the organization’s fourth. Call for submissions is November 14 to 21. Contact: www.designhopetoronto.ca
