VANCOUVER—The Society of Graphic Designers of Canada has announced that the 2010 Icograda Design Week will be held in Vancouver.

Following on the heels of the 2010 Winter Olympics, the event will be held during the week of April 27, 2010. According to the GDC, additional activities will take place across the country to make Design Week a national event.

The week will include a variety of design events, workshops, conferences, exhibitions, and networking opportunities.

Icograda is the International Council of Graphic Design Associations, the world body for professional communication design. Its signature event series, Icograda Design Week, is hosted in different locations around the world. Last year, events were held in Daegu, Korea and Torino, Italy. Its next Design Week wil be held Feb. 28 to Mar. 5 in Doha, Qatar.

Speakers at Icograda Design Weeks are international authorities on various sectors of visual communication. Each Icograda week has a unique theme that addresses current challenges and opportunities within the graphic design profession for designers, and industry and business leaders.
