SAINT-JEROME, QC—Cascades Fine Paper, in conjunction with Quebec-based TGLC, has developed a new tool to optimize colour results for projects printed on Rolland Enviro100 Print paper.
The partnership has developed an ICC (International Color Consortium) colour profile for the paper brand, which contains 100% post-consumer waste. The ICC colour profile works with most popular computer graphics programs. Once installed, the profile allows designers to specify Rolland Enviro100 Print as the paper for the project, and the software will automatically set the optimal colour separations.
The profile takes into account the specifics of the paper and type of printing process chosen, web or sheetfed. Used at the design stage or during prepress, the colour profile provides better consistency throughout the project, says Cascades. Since jobs get up to colour more quickly, less paper and ink is wasted.
