Interactive designer Joshua Davis launches new art collection, Outside the Lines
|
Make sure to stop by our Design Edge Canada booth to renew your free magazine subscription, check out HP’s cool new z400 series Workstation and enter for a chance to win $1,300 in Microsoft web software.
Speakers at this year’s event include illustrator Marcos Chin, Joshua Hirsch of Big Spaceship, multi-disciplinary new media artist Thierry Loa, AmoebaCorp’s Mikey Richardson and designer/developer Joshua Davis, among many others.
Davis is also making an appearance at interactive art and design shop Function13 on April 26. He is launching a solo show of prints from his new collection of paper products and accessories called Outside the Lines, in partnership with Barcelona-based paper goods company Miquelrius.
The New York-based designer has been referred to as an interactive Jackson Pollock. Davis is renowned for pioneering a method of computational generative art derived from Chaos Theory. He uses Adobe Illustrator and his own Flash-based programs to combine colours with organic shapes, text elements, and other symbols to create one-off images.
