TORONTO—Unisource Canada has launched a new website dedicated to sustainability (www.unisourcegreen.ca). The site features industry news, an eco calculator, a price comparison chart, featured green products and links to environmental advocate groups. Also included is an environmental checklist that allows customers to see how uncoated, coated, and alternative fibre papers distributed by Unisource Canada compare on environmental performance.
A glossary of environmental terms and a primer on the symbols of sustainability serve customers new to green paper.
In the coming months, the site will be expanded to include the company’s Supply Systems operations. The promotion of green paper is one of six initiatives established by the Unisource Sustainability Task Force in 2008. Other initiatives concern greenhouse gas emissions, fleet performance, energy consumption, solid waste reduction and the company’s vendor evolution process. Contact: www.unisourcegreen.ca
