Appleton Coated publishes two new green guides

COMBINED LOCKS, WI—Paper manufacturer Appleton Coated released two books to promote green business practices. The Green Outlook is a guide that offers environmentally friendly trends, tips and advice in the print platform. It gathered information from case studies, industry surveys, consultant columns and business books. Phil Cavalier, vice president of marketing, states in a news release that the guide hopes to raise awareness and spark discussion.

He says, "If you only have time to read one summary of environmental considerations around forestry practices, fiber certifications, PCW, green power, and paper and print options, you'll find this to be the perfect resource."

Appleton Coated also launched Driving Your Green Story Home. It contains stories from five companies that share their tales of going green. Most notably, Subaru tells how it became the first auto manufacturer to achieve zero landfill status. True to form, Appleton Coated has made sure both books follow their own environmentally friendly mantras.

The Green Outlook guide is printed on U2: XG Matte, which offers FSC-certified stock and manufactured with 30 per cent post-consumer-recovered fiber and electricity. Meanwhile the pages of  Driving Your Green Story Home uses 20 per cent post-consumer-recovered fiber and electricity in the form of renewable energy. The two books are available free of charge.
