RGD launches new critique site for students
TORONTO—Earlier this month, RGD Ontario launched a new critique space on Flickr for RGD student and provisional members to post their work and receive expert feedback.
The Flickr space, developed by RGD Ontario’s student rep committee, allows young designers to post up to four projects per month. As it continues to grow, the site will be promoted to industry professionals in hopes they will visit the site and share their advice.
Dave Freedman, student representative on RGD’s board of directors, says the site will allow graphic design students to get a varied perspective on their work, better understand the work of others and even expand their networking opportunities.
“In one example from [Flickr space member] Nadia Christina [Bergeron], she got feedback from an RGD member and one of the student reps, and she revised and reposted her work based on the feedback,” says Freedman. “So we can see growth and we can see how the critique impacted her choices.” Contact: www.flickr.com/groups/rgdcritiquespace
