Maclean's AD expands role
TORONTO—Christine Dewairy, art director of weekly newsmagazine Maclean’s, is now also responsible for the look of biweekly business title Canadian Business as well as the bimonthly titles MoneySense and Profit. All four magazines are published by Rogers Publishing.
Dewairy has been art director at Maclean’s since 2005, when she was involved in the redesign and relaunch of the magazine. She takes over as art director at Canadian Business from Tim Davin, who was let go earlier this year. Davin had been art director at Canadian Business since 2001. Also gone are Karen Simpson at MoneySense and Marcello Biagioni at Profit. "She will be assembling a team of designers and photo people to support all the magazines, under her leadership," said Suneel Khanna, senior director of communications for Rogers Consumer Publishing.

Sounds like Rogers is cutting back on their senior talent and giving Dewairy the overseer position while having low-paid juniors do the actual work.

Not Rogers, per se. It's all Ken Whyte's doing.
