ADCC show celebrates 60
TORONTO—The Advertising and Design Club of Canada's awards show, Directions, celebrated its 60th anniversary last night at its annual gala held at the McMillan Theatre and the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto.

Hundreds of industry folk attended the two-hour presentation hosted by Terry O'Reilly, where a record 43 gold A trophies were awarded.

Among the gold winners were Lg2boutique, Nolin BBDO and Clean in the graphic design category. Five golds were awarded in interactive design to Grip Limited, The Vacuum, Arc Worldwide/Leo Burnett, Zulu Alpha Kilo and Proximity Canada.

There were no golds awarded in the editorial design category, much to the chagrin of several editorial art directors in the audience. Only two silvers were awarded, to Coupe and The Walrus magazines. Last year, four golds were given out in that category: two for photography and two for magazine art direction. Click here for a full list of 2009 winners. Contact: www.theadcc.com
