McMillan creates Movember calendar for charity
OTTAWA—What started as a Movember charity initiative to raise money for prostate cancer—a campaign where men grow moustaches during the month of November—has turned into a creative project at Ottawa-based advertising agency McMillan.

Art director Michael Zavacky says the men at the office had a lot of fun and raised a lot of money during November and when it ended they wanted to do more. “We created a
 "Februhairy"
calendar with a photo for each month,” he says. “We got a local printer, Lowe-Martin, to donate the printing and started to grow from that. One thing I have always believed in as a graphic designer is that you have to create your own opportunities.”

The calendar, which is available at McmillanMoustaches.com with a suggested donation of $10, was designed with a ‘70s feel in mind. “Even the clothes in the calendar are a throwback, because of the popularity of moustaches in that decade,” says Zavacky. “I drew on that with the colours and the fonts. I used Cooper Black, a font used on ‘70s t-shirts.” Contact: Mcmillanmoustaches.com, Ca.movember.com, Mcmillanagency.com

There's a guy I see on the commuter train that would have been perfect for this. His moustache is reminiscent of the Wizard's moustache in the Wizard of Oz but much larger and alot more curlier.
