New photography industry directory
MONTREAL—The Canadian commercial photography industry has a new website offering “an all-access online community and directory dedicated to the Canadian commercial photography industry.”

“Trying to find reputable Canadian talent in one place is very difficult. TheMeatMarket.ca aims to be a direct link for professional photographers to showcase their talent,” says site founder Anna Goodson, president of Anna Goodson Management – a boutique agency representing illustrators and motion graphic artists.

The site’s member base is comprised of photography industry associates such as photographers, modelling agencies, stylists and production services, totalling just over 60 since its inception in April. Membership is by invitation, allowing only top talent industry players to join.

“I hope that photo editors, art buyers, art and creative directors, and others in the industry seeing these services will find their photography needs met at The Meat Market,” says Goodson.

Talent can be searched by province or specialty with direct links to the website of the professional. Contact: www.themeatmarket.ca

"TheMeatMarket.ca" - are you serious? who thought of that name and what is the connection to photography??? sounds more like a bad dating website

no surprise the web domain was available.

i agree-- considering the reputation some "fashion" photographers have as perverts, this was a bad choice for a name -- it doesn't communicate "professional photography" at all

does it bother the genius that thought of this name that the .com is actually a real meat market brand that has been around since 1976? THINK before you launch a venture.

Talk about it in a bad way
talk about it in a good way
just talk about it and it will get known !!

Thank you

Perhaps, Louise... but "it" will get known for selling cuts of meat, not photography.
