Hope Creative uncorks a new design for The Wine Establishment
TORONTO—Hope Creative has designed a new promotional booklet for wine accessories shop The Wine Establishment, which aims to put a modern twist on the pamphlet it had been using for over 10 years.

Updated photography was key to the new booklet
Updated photography was key to the new booklet

“They had been using a roll-fold brochure, which folded twice and made a pamphlet,” says Michael Hope, creative director of Hope Creative. “I suggested they move to a 5x5-inch booklet and raise the bar a little bit in terms of their overall presentation.”

This change also involved updating the company’s dated photography style, says Hope. Zapfino was chosen to add some class and style to the booklet as an accent font, with Minion as the clean body font. A Bordeaux red was used as the colour in the booklet to match the company’s logo and keep with the wine theme.

Hope, who has been working with The Wine Establishment for over a decade, says they are a great client because they’re very accepting. “They don’t try to design themselves." Contact: Hopecreative.com, Thewineestablishment.com

Sorry, but it looks like this was created 15 years ago. Zapfino? Really? In a world of an abundant amount of beautiful typefaces, you chose Zapfino and Minion? It'd even look better in Arial and Times.

Is it just me, or does it look like their website has not been updated in many, many years? Looks like it's time for a re-do.

And...how Zapfino adds "class" is beyond me. I don't want to sound negative, but I just don't get any of this work.
