Site will help businesses and freelancers find each other
TORONTO—Self-proclaimed “Toronto’s busiest freelance advertising writer” Rich Cooper has launched Go! Team Freelance. A website designed to make it easier for established freelancers to find work, and for businesses to find them.

The site, Goteamfreelance.com was created to meet the ever-increasing demand for contract workers in the design, communications and web fields, says Cooper. Freelancers who register on the site must have at least five years experience in their respective field and do not pay to join. They are, however asked to give a $100 donation to the site when they land their first big job.

Companies looking for freelancers on the site can register and be able to track freelancers availability through continually updated online calendars. If a company has an existing relationship with a freelancer who has registered with the site, no finders' fee will be charged to the company. If, however, the company finds someone new, hires them on a project and likes their work they then pay a one-time $100 fee to the site, says Cooper. Companies are also charged $1000 if they hire a freelancer from the site full-time.

Those using freelancers on the site must pay them $50 per hour, or at least $400 per day, says Cooper. “The site is not intended for comparison shopping,” he says. Contact: Goteamfreelance.com

In the interest of others who also may have decided to check out this neat marketing tool for Freelance talent (as I did), I'd just like to make it known that my Norton security software has blocked this site and identified it as potentially a phishing site. If true, this would be unfortunate. I actually hope my software is wrong but I advise caution, especially when giving out personal information. Please let others know of your experience so we'll all know if it is safe to use. Thx.

this sounds great! I live in London, ON. And there is currently no really great network aimed at this area. I hope it picks up!
to the above, I also hope it isn't a phishing site. Having said that, sometimes with overly strict anti-virus software running, certain backend parts of the website are slightly incompatible with some pre-made e-commerce codes. So who knows.
neat.
