Canadian agencies shortlisted in CLIO awards
Design work from a number of Canadian agencies have been shortlisted in the CLIO awards, a global competition for advertising, design, interactive and public relations.

 

Shortlisted Canadian agencies in design include TAXI Canada - Toronto for its corporate identity for Edward Pond and in the self-promotion category for Edward Pond; DDB Canada/Karacters in Vancouver for its corporate identity for Skuna Bay, Vancouver Island Craft Raised Salmon; Lowe Roche in Toronto for its corporate identity for TFO; Sid Lee in Montreal for environmental design for Bota Bota; Leo Burnett Toronto for environmental design work and point of purchase design for Smith Restaurant + Bar; and Juniper Park in Toronto in environmental for Virgin Mobile.

Canadian firms have also been shortlisted in other media categories including integrated campaign (Reason Partners in Toronto for CIL Paints); website/microsite (Lowe Roche for Johnson & Johnson Canada); apps-mobile (Cundari in Toronto for Sick Kids Hospital Cancer Monitoring and in Interactive-other for BMW 1M); print-public service (BBDO in Toronto for Canadian Paralympic Committee); and also in print-public service (Leo Burnett for Raising the Roof).

Shortlisted agencies are eligible to win grand, gold, silver or bronze statues in their respective categories at the 53rd Annual CLIO Awards at New York City's American Museum of Natural History on Tuesday, May 15.

The international competition received over 11,000 submissions from countries as far-reaching as Vietnam, Tunisia and Saudi Arabia, according to a release.

Founded by Wallace A. Ross in 1959, the award program’s name originates in Greek mythology, "where CLIO was the muse of history, the recorder of great deeds, the proclaimer and celebrator of accomplishments, and a source of inspiration and genius," notes the site.
