World Communication Design Day celebrated this Friday
The Toronto chapter of the Communication Designers Association (where the association was born) is marking Icograda's World Communication Design Day this Friday April 27 with an evening gathering at The Ballroom on 145 John Street, starting at 6:30 p.m.

The annual global event began in 1991 as World Graphics Day. Icograda, the worldwide communication design council (currently headquartered in Montreal) celebrates its 49th anniversary this year on that day. The event was renamed World Communication Design Day starting this year.

This year's theme is Convergence. "On this occasion, designers reflect and hope that our global network can contribute to greater understanding between people and can help to build bridges where divides and inequities exist," notes Icograda's website.

The Toronto event is free to attend and open to the public as well as professional designers. To follow WCDD on Twitter, use #wcdd2012. Similar events will take place in New York, London, Zurich and Berlin.
