Lionel Gadoury was re-elected as president for a third year, while registered graphic designers Fillipo Di Trapani of Ottawa, Russell Gibbs of Dundas along with Stüssy Tschudin and Tim Smith of Toronto are newly elected this year. “This new board reinforces RGD’s commitment to being the hub for graphic design in Ontario, and in particular broaden our awareness and expertise in the digital realm,” noted Gadoury.

The RGD noted its vice presidents were selected this year based on their chairing of one of RGD's mandated committees. Its VPs are: Chair of the Ethics Committee, Mark McAllister from Sudbury; Bob Hambly in Toronto, who is chair of the Communications Committee; Karen Satok in Toronto, who chairs the Education Committee; and Stüssy Tschudin in Toronto who is now chair of the membership committee.

Perhaps RGD membership dues and event fees should be reduced for smaller communities -who do get less service for their dollar than Toronto members. Many of the designers outside of the GTA do not earn as much (client budgets are a lot smaller)-so they cannot afford to join or participate in RGD events, even though they may want to. If the fees were lower, it would be more accessible to everyone.

@Anonymous 2, instead of complaining why don't you try to be active with the RGD to make change? They'd be able to represent more of the province if more of the province came out and participated instead of spending their time complaining on the internet.
I've signed up events that they organize in London that always get cancelled because not enough people in our area show up - then those same people complain about how they don't do enough! These hypocrites ruin it for everyone.

huh?! The RGD is really "the hub for graphic design" in Toronto! Why should those of us who don't live in Toronto pay the same dues and get less service? The majority of representation and activity is still all about one city. We work in the largest province! The RGD must serve a lot more than Ottawa and Kingston if they truly want to be an Ontario body. They could learn a lot from ARIDO and other more inclusive provincial associations.
