Graphic design pioneer Ken Rodmell will speak at Reggie Party
TORONTO—Canadian graphic design pioneer Ken Rodmell, a man who magazine publisher and editor John Macfarlane has described as having "trained a generation of Canadian art directors," will be feted at Design Edge Canada's Regional Design Awards on June 26, 2012 in Toronto. In collaboration with the Toronto Chapter of the Communication Designers Association (CDA), Rodmell will present a short retrospective of his life's work to the Reggies audience, sharing stories of his method, his mentors, his career and his craft.
Rodmell, winner of the Les Usherwood Award for Lifetime Achievement from the Advertising & Design Club of Canada, as well as the National Magazine Awards' Lifetime Achievement Award, has art directed such prominent publications as Canadian Art, Canadian Business, Quill and Quire, Where, Toronto Life, and Toronto Life Fashion. A graduate of the Ontario College of Art & Design, Rodmell went on to be a long-time instructor in OCAD University's Graphic Design program.

Ken was a powerful influence and talent to many of us who admired and loved his work. Canadian Design would not be what it is today without him.
