TORONTO—Casco Design and Communications in Toronto has been nominated for an award in the Business Growth category by the Toronto Board of Trade. The Business Excellence Awards honours the contributions of small and medium sized businesses in the Toronto region.

“This nomination really gives me a sense of accomplishment,” says Diego Casco, president and creative director of Casco Design and Communications. “With over 10 years in business, we have survived multiple economic cycles, proving that the work we do is meaningful and continues to be important. We are currently expanding our operations to serve the Latin American market by establishing our presence in San José, Costa Rica.”
Other nominees for the 2012 Business Excellence Awards include Jet Cooper, a UX design agency, for Start-Up/New Business; Marketing Core, offering brand solutions, in the Local Economic Impact category; and Guru Studios, specializing in character animation, in the Diversity category.

Businesses are nominated by members of the Toronto Board of Trade and the nominees are then screened to confirm eligibility. Once the nominees are approved, the Business Excellence Awards Committee arranges site visits and interviews with the nominees. The information collected will then be sent back to a neutral panel of judges who determine the three finalists in each category. The award winners will be announced at the gala event on November 15 at the Toronto Congress Centre.
