MISSISSAUGA, Ont.—Despite reports that Canada is entering its weakest period of economic growth in 17 years, designers remain optimistic. Of the 566 respondents who entered our Design Edge Canada Economic Forecast survey, 89% expect their business will grow in 2009.
Of those 502 designers, 32.5% anticipate a growth of three to five per cent, while 21.5% expect business will jump by more than 12%.
Who are these respondents? Mainly principals (58.6%) of companies with one to five employees (68.7%) and revenues of up to $249,000 (59.3%) who are based in Ontario (69.4%).
Look for the Sept/Oct issue of Design Edge Canada for a complete rundown of our survey results, plus commentary from industry players in each sector of graphic design.
